Hi everyone! I feel like it has been so long since I have posted. Today I am talking about more designer look-alike pieces centering around the brand Self-Portrait. Self-Portrait is a truly remarkable brand that has many feminine, unique and beautiful pieces. The price tag is a bit hefty as many celebrities enjoy wearing this brand and once you see the dresses you will know why! But do not worry for I have found many look-alike dresses for a fraction of the price. Some of the dresses look exactly the same and others have similar features but are not exact look-alikes. Nevertheless if you’re interested in finding out more, keep reading!
It all started when I began looking for a dress for my cousin’s wedding and I received an email from Bloomingdale’s stating they had a new collection coming out in. I looked at the ad campaign and I was hooked. I saw a baby blue lace dress that I knew looked oh so familiar but I couldn’t put my finger on it. I quickly googled the Self-Portrait Azaelea dress and there it was. Both the Bloomingdale’s dress and the Self-Portrait were the same! I pre-ordered two different dresses that day.
So… let’s take a peek!
The Azaelea Guipure Lace Dress
This dress by Self-Portrait is probably one of the most featured. It is a lace midi-length dress. There is a nude underlay and you can see that the dress is shorter underneath and that the lace extends down mid-length. This dress is one of my absolute favorites. It comes in a variety of colors from baby blue to black, white, red and many others.
The Self-Portrait dress is on Neiman Marcus’ website for $480.
Bloomingdale’s Aqua Cami Midi Dress
Now let’s compare the above dress to one I found at Bloomingdale’s. It is also a black lace mid length dress with a nude underlay. It has the same intricate detail on the top of the dress as well. This is an EXACT dupe of the Self-Portrait Azaelea dress. Except the price is only $148.
So, this dress originally came in a baby blue color as well that sold out quickly (I actually pre-ordered the blue color and my order couldn’t be fulfilled). The black is still beautiful and you can’t beat a $332 price savings!
Self-Portrait Off Shoulder Heavy Lace Midi Prom Dress
This dress is similar to the Azaelea Lace Dress but features wider straps and has a longer nude underlay. The dress is also mid length.
This dress was found on Asos for around $440 but has since sold out. You can still check it out here.
Bloomingdale’s Midi Lace Dress
The silhouette of this dress is the same as the above. The lace on the skirt is a little different but otherwise it is a perfect dupe of the Self-Portrait Off Shoulder Lace Dress. The only difference of course is the color as Bloomingdale’s only carries this in black but I am certain that the Self-Portrait dress when available was sold in various colors. The price for this dress is $148, with a total cost savings of $292.
Bloomingdale’s Lace Cami Empire Midi Dress
I wanted to feature this dress because in my opinion it is a mix of the Self-Portrait Off Shoulder Heavy Lace Midi Prom Dress and the Azaelea Guipure Lace Dress. It features the same skinny straps and top detailing as the Azaelea dress but resembles the Off Shoulder Midi Dress more in the lace details and skirt area. I think it’s the best of both worlds!
This dress is at Bloomingdale’s for $148. Check this dress out here.
Self-Portrait Guipure Lace Mini Dress
This dress is a beautiful light blue lace featuring unique peek through features and an ivory underlay.
This dress was originally listed on Net-A-Porter for $287 but has since sold out. Check it out here.
Bloomingdale’s Lace Illusion Mini Dress
This dress at Bloomingdale’s is an exact dupe to the Self-Portrait dress listed above but the price is only at $148. This is a savings of $139!
Self-Portrait Felicia Collared Lace Dress
This dress is a casual take on lace with its fun two-toned color and collar. I think it is a cute statement dress.
This dress is at Neiman Marcus for $530.
Bloomingdale’s Collar Lace Overlay Dress
This dress is not an exact dupe. As I mentioned above some pieces are inspired by Self Portrait, this is one of them. It still is a fun, mini dress featured in black and white and has a collar. It is $148 versus $530, a $382 difference.
Self-Portrait Sculpted Teardrop Peplum Dress
This beautiful white dress has many intricate details from the polka dot sheer top, waist and bottom to the peplum ruffles and lace panels.
This is on Shopbop’s website for $520.
Bloomingdale’s Fit and Flare Dress
This is another inspired dress as it is not the same as the previous dress but has a few similar features. It features that same sheer polka dot material throughout and the lace paneling as well as the semi sheer waist. The difference here is that there are no sleeves and this dress features a lace-up/tie-up detail on the front. It $128 versus $520, coming in with a difference of $392.
Self-Portrait Guipure Lace Mini Skirt
This skirt is in that same beautiful lace material we have seen and is a mini skirt in a peplum shape.
This skirt is on Revolve Clothing’s website for $263 on sale.
Bloomingdale’s Tiered Lace Skirt
This skirt is pretty much the same as the Self-Portrait one, featuring lace with a sheer and flared out bottom. The obvious difference is the color but I think it is quite pretty! This is listed at Bloomingdale’s for $88, with a difference in price of $175.
There were a few other pieces at Bloomingdale’s that looked like some other Self-Portrait pieces but those items have since sold out! I can’t believe how quickly these have sold out over at Bloomingdale’s (I ordered one a month out and still didn’t get it) but once I realized how closely they resemble Self-Portrait I can see why. They are truly beautiful, stand out pieces. Bloomingdale’s has sales once in a while or you can sign up for e-mails or texts to receive an extra 10% off. I have listed each in stock dress below.
I hope that you enjoyed today’s post! This was honestly just a spontaneous post and it all fell together quite nicely. I guess that is what happens when you are obsessed with fashion… you see something and you just know that you’ve seen it somewhere else before!
